Value: $16m
Client: Peninsula Health & Monash University
Architect: Lyons
Completion date: November 2021
The purpose of the project was to develop a Clinical Teaching and Research Facility (CTRF) for Frankston Hospital, presently aligned to the Peninsula Campus of Monash University.
This facility accommodates both staffing requirements for Frankston Hospital and Monash University, while supporting Monash University students to take the step towards clinical placements within the Frankston Hospital campus.
Measuring at 1,500m2 GFA over three levels the project includes a plant room, offices and teaching spaces as well as a new main entrance.Services feeding the building were taken from the existing plant within adjacent buildings further extending the boundary of works into the live hospital.
External works expanded into the live hospital areas consisting of DDA compliant carparking and landscaping work around the perimeter of the new facility to tie into the existing hospital’s environment.
Through an extensive ECI process, Built worked closely with Peninsula Health, Monash University and multiple stakeholders to redesign the project to meet the client’s budget. This was achieved through close client engagement and our dedicated health sector expertise.
