Inside the tower that will revolutionise sustainable buildings
Construction is now underway on Atlassian’s new global headquarters, Atlassian Central, which will anchor Australia’s new world class Tech Central precinct.
Built, in a joint venture with Obayashi Corporation, has been appointed by Dexus to construct the Atlassian tower, designed by SHoP Architects in partnership with BVN.
Built CEO and Managing Director, Brett Mason, said the new 39 storey hybrid timber office tower will set a new benchmark for sustainability.
“This will be the world’s tallest hybrid timber building. An ambitious vision, that’s never been done before. Some of the new sustainability benchmarks this building will set, will provide a roadmap and examples for future buildings globally.”
The Property Council of Australia recently hosted a panel discussion with representatives from Built, Atlassian, Dexus and SHoP Architects, on how the vision for Atlassian Central emerged and the impact the tower will have on the future of commercial development.
