The project comprised the creation of a new surgical theatres with AirFrame and support spaces together with the reconfiguration and refurbishment of the existing theatre clinical support spaces, associated staff amenities and storage areas.

The existing car parking facility was also reconfigured and expanded to provide 16 additional parking bays.

Infection control management and communication were integral to the success of the project as the works were undertaken whilst adjacent to operational surgical theatres.

Live environment works with multiple break throughs to existing spaces and after-hours works were completed within sterile areas. To complete this safely, a detailed critical works plan was developed in consultation with consultants, Western Hospital and contractors.
