Barrack Place at 151 Clarence Street, Sydney involved the demolition of an existing 16,000 sqm B-grade building to make way for a new, next generation A-grade, 18 storey, 22,000 sqm building designed to achieve a target 6-star Green Star, a 5.5-star NABERS Energy rating and Platinum WELL rating.
The project, originally scoped to target a 5 Star rating was increased to a 6 Star rating and underpinned by two key changes identified and implemented by Built. The first was to transition to a performance-based materials assessment through a life cycle analysis. The second was to leverage the innovation category in Green Star and claim the maximum 10 innovation points available.
The project also boasts the title of Australia’s first ever WELL Core & Shell Gold Pre-certified Building by the International WELL Building Institute™.
Built also completed the integrated fitout for Arup in this premier building. The project won Australian Development of the Year at the 2020 Property Council of Australia.
