Building Excellence: Celebrating Ellen Warren and Jennifer Brown’s NAWIC Wins

16 November 2023

Congratulations to Ellen Warren and Jennifer Brown who won their respective categories at the Victoria and Western Australia NAWIC Annual Excellence Awards.

These awards are instrumental in celebrating the achievements and industry advancements of women in construction, helping to fulfill NAWIC’s vision of an equitable industry that empowers women to reach their full potential.

We also acknowledge Andrew Morgan, Construction Director in Victoria, who received commendation for the Industry Ally Award.

Young Achiever Award: Ellen Warren, Graduate Project Coordinator, Vic

This award recognises the dedication and excellence of an individual 30 years or younger – a mould which Ellen well and truly fits due to her successful implementation of the Crate of Kindness initiative at 480 Swan St.

Ellen has showed exceptional leadership through the establishment of a comprehensive framework, relationships built with key stakeholders, management of supplies and effective organisation of volunteers.

Ellen outlined the importance of these programmes in combatting domestic violence.

“Programmes like this one help transform accommodation from a house to a home for women to escape to. I feel very privileged to be able to have worked alongside the providers and charities,” she added.

Creating the Best Project Award: Jennifer Brown, Contract Administrator, WA
Jennifer has been recognised for her recent projects that have exceeded expectations – effectively responding to client briefs, meeting functional requirements and going above and beyond to deliver shared value.

“Winning the NAWIC WA award for Creating the Best Project was special for me because I never chose a career in construction but having ended up here – I’m now really thankful for as each day is different and there are some really exciting projects out there in Perth.” said Jen.

“Being recognised in an industry where there are so many inspiring people is really humbling and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my team and the wider Built team”.

At Built we’re committed to fostering diversity and inclusion. Through fostering mutual respect, cultural openness, and embracing diverse perspectives, we all benefit as individuals, a business and an industry.
