Advancing the industry through a more diverse and inclusive workforce
We’re committed to being the most responsive business we can be
At Built, we’re committed to creating and maintaining a diverse and inclusive workforce that celebrates our differences and fosters a culture of understanding and support.
We aim to include people of all backgrounds to ensure their perspectives and experiences are seen, heard, and reflected in our work. We do this through targeted initiatives that support an inclusive environment, drive a culture of wellbeing and support, and improve our workplace flexibility.
Creating an inclusive environment
Through awareness, celebration, and support, we aspire to create a workplace that represents the diverse communities in which we live and work, promoting an inclusive culture where everyone feels valued and respected.
We’re proud to continue our active participation in mentoring and sponsorship programs such as Cultivate, as well as encourage our people to celebrate and acknowledge awareness days such as International Women’s Day, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
We’re continuing to focus on enhancing our own capabilities through employee training programs such as unconscious bias training and participation in bespoke disability recruitment programs.
A culture of wellbeing and support
As part of our ongoing commitment to the health, safety, and wellbeing of our people, we promote a culture of wellbeing support by empowering our people to make time for their own health and wellbeing.
Whether site or office-based, we provide our employees with enhanced mental health and support through visible leadership and ongoing participation in awareness programs such as Mental Health Month, to providing practical health and wellbeing sessions such as fitness classes, meditations, and health checks.
We also offer a holistic Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which provides a broad range of independent services available for all employees and their immediate family at no cost.
Improving workplace flexibility
At Built, we recognise that improved flexibility will not only help our valued employees balance their personal and work commitments, but it also helps attract new people to the construction industry.
Supported by workplace flexibility policies and programs, we provide flexible working arrangements for site and project employees, ensuring each site works to a fair and equitable roster, and encouraging consistency with site hours.
“Ensuring that our people have the opportunity to grow and adapt to their evolving needs will continue to be a top priority for me.”
Sarah Wilson, Director, People & Culture, Built
